Terms of Use

Last updated: September 2026

01

Scope and acceptance

These Terms of Use govern your use of recogift.com and the gift-recommendation service operated by Smart Soft Solution OÜ, Tallinn, Estonia ("we", "us", "Recogift"). By using the service, or by creating an account after the signup notice presents these Terms, you agree to them.

If you do not agree, please do not use the service. We may publish supplementary rules (for example a Privacy Policy or an Affiliate Disclosure) which form part of these Terms.

02

What Recogift provides

Recogift is an editorial gift-discovery tool. You answer a short questionnaire and we return a curated shortlist of gift ideas with written reasoning behind the picks.

Recommendations are informational only. They are not professional advice and do not constitute an offer to sell. Availability, pricing and product details are set exclusively by the third-party merchants we link to.

03

Accounts, fees, and minimum age

Use of the service is free of charge, with no subscription or automatic renewal. You can use the gift finder without registering; your answers and shortlist are then stored locally in your browser. You may create a free account to save reports. As a Recogift product rule, you must be at least 16 to use the service on your own; younger users may use it only with a parent or legal guardian.

You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. You can delete your account at any time. We may temporarily restrict or suspend an account where reasonably necessary to address misuse, a Terms breach, or a security risk.

04

Affiliate links

Recogift participates as a publisher in the affiliate network operated by AWIN AG. Some outbound product links may be marked AWIN affiliate links. If you click such a link and complete a purchase with the merchant, we may receive a commission. The price you pay does not change.

Participation in the AWIN partner programme does not influence our editorial selection. Details about labelling, the network, tracking, and your privacy rights are described in the Affiliate Disclosure and the Privacy Policy.

05

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service — for example by attempting to circumvent rate limits, scraping content for commercial resale, reverse-engineering the recommendation engine, or interfering with other users. We may limit, suspend or terminate access if these Terms are breached.

06

Intellectual property

All editorial copy, layouts, graphics, the wordmark and the recommendation logic are, to the extent they are protectable, owned by Smart Soft Solution OÜ or its licensors and protected by copyright and other laws. You may view and share individual reports for personal, non-commercial purposes; any other use requires our prior written consent.

07

Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that recommendations will fit a specific recipient, that linked products will remain in stock, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Our liability is determined by applicable Estonian law. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for intentional breach, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Where the law permits a limitation, liability is limited to direct loss that was reasonably foreseeable when the service was used. Mandatory consumer rights and remedies remain unaffected.

08

Availability and changes to the service

We may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time, especially for security, maintenance or legal reasons. We aim to give reasonable notice of material changes when feasible.

09

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when our service or applicable law changes. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. The version published at the time of your use applies. We announce material changes here in good time; we do not infer implied consent to disadvantageous changes from continued use alone.

10

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and your use of the service are governed by the law of the Republic of Estonia, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. As a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of habitual residence (Art. 6 Rome I Regulation).

If you act as a business or legal entity, the exclusive place of jurisdiction is our registered seat in Tallinn, Estonia, to the extent permitted by law. Consumer jurisdiction and mandatory rights remain unaffected. Information about the Estonian Consumer Disputes Committee and how to contact it is provided in the imprint.
