Affiliate disclosure
What are affiliate links?
An affiliate link is a specially marked link to a merchant. When you buy through one, the merchant may pay us a small commission out of the regular sale price. The price does not change for you. Recogift processes limited click and connection data as described in the Privacy Policy, and the merchant receives the connection data normally sent by your browser when its page opens.
Does this affect our recommendations?
No. Which gifts we suggest is decided solely by our scoring engine based on your questionnaire answers (recipient, occasion, budget, interests, constraints). Commission rates and merchant deals do not factor into the selection. Non-affiliated products can also appear in your shortlist if they're a better match.
Which networks do we work with?
Recogift participates as a publisher in the affiliate network operated by AWIN AG. Once tracking is activated, AWIN connects us with participating merchants and attributes marked link clicks and potential purchases. Individual merchant programmes and offers may change. Commercial links are identified by a visible affiliate label; non-affiliated recommendations remain possible.
Legal basis
We clearly identify commercial communications in accordance with § 5 of the Estonian Information Society Services Act and § 3 of the Estonian Advertising Act. Because our service is also directed at the German market, § 5a (4) UWG applies in addition: the commercial purpose must be apparent. We apply that standard on every page carrying affiliate links.
